Oklahomans just said no

There was a vote in Oklahoma on March 7 to decide thefateofStateQuestion820, making recreational marijuana use legal for adults over the age of 21. Even though some Oklahoma residents dared to be like California and other states with legal recreational marijuana, the majority just said no.

The vote to reject the bill was a landslide. Approximately 60 percent of Oklahomans rejected the idea of making recreational marijuana legal.

Oklahoma Governor voiced his opinion on the rejection, and said he was pleased by the result.

“I believe this is the best thing to keep our kids safe and for our state as a whole,” Governor Kevin Stitt said in a statement.“Iremaincommitted toprotectingOklahomans and my administration will continue to hold bad actors accountable and crack down on illegal marijuana operations.”
