We hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July.
If you haven't noticed, our weekends are getting busier around here. I have noticed many Jet Skis with the riders being younger.
Most are careful, however, I have seen them racing each other headed under the Roosevelt Bridge with a pontoon boat coming from the other direction. That could have gone very wrong had the boat driver not backed off and yielded the right away. So, please be cautious and safe around our amazing lake.
The Auxiliary members and TFD firefighters want to give Lowe's in Durant a big thank you for giving our firefighters a big gift of tools and other miscellaneous items. These were much appreciated forourdepartment.
Ladies, our next Auxiliary meeting will be Monday July 20 at 1:30 p.m. with fellowship at 1 p.m. prior to the meeting.
The exercise/stretching classes are every Monday andWednesday at10:00a.m. Card games are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 12:00 p.m.
For anyone needing to rent the Texoma Community Center building for a party or family gathering place contact Judy Jeffreys at 405-684-1636. Calls are monitored twice a week so please allow plenty of time for your event.
The cost is $75 per day and can only be rented by members of the Fire District. The building capacity is 158.
