Ken Grace is the second Republican candidate who is vying for the title of sheriff. Here are his answers to the questions.

How long you have lived in Marshall County? What is your law enforcement background?

I have had property in Marshall County since 1982, lived here full time since 2020. My law enforcement background started in 1974 with the Bethany Police Department. After seven years, the Chief was appointed to be the Oklahoma County Sheriff. I went with him and returned in 1998 as Chief Deputy. I then moved to Ardmore and started the Dickson Police Department. After that, I was hired at the Carter County Sheriff Office as Undersheriff. A short time later, the sheriff died and I was appointed sheriff. After two and a half terms, I was hiredasArdmorePoliceChief and retired in 2020.

What platform or issues will you be running on?

Containing drug problem in this county. Unfortunately, where there is a demand, there will be a supply. I know we don’t have the money or manpower, but there are state agencies that can and will assist us. I plan to take advantage of that while also cutting down on burglaries and drunk drivers.

Why should Marshall County residents vote for you?

I believe experience is the main reason. I have a total of 45 years of law enforcement that I can bring to Marshall County. I have been coming to Marshall County since the 1970’s and I am very proud of this; and I want to make the residents of Marshall County proud of their Sheriff office.

What is your vision for the future of Marshall County?

The county is growing like never before and with the announcement of the Hard Rock Café and Casino they are saying approximately 9,000morepeople,sowehave to work on our infrastructure andtokeepupwiththetimes.

How do you plan to combat the criminal activity that comes with the black market demand for legal medical marijuana in Oklahoma?

Combat criminal activity. I plan to take advantage of all my law enforcement friends and ask for some help.
