Ximena Peralta is a senior at Madill High School. She said as graduation approaches, she reflects on her 14-year journey filled with unforgettable moments and invaluable lessons.
Born to Lazaro and Miriam Peralta, and part of a close-knit family that includes grandparents Margarita and Jesus Santillan, along with siblings Dannya and Jonathan, Peralta’s support system has been a cornerstone of her success.
In her time at Madill, Peralta has immersed herself in a variety of activities, notably the school band and the National Honor Society. After graduation, she said sheplanstoattendMurrayto obtain her associate's degree, followed by further studies in business at Southeastern.
Peralta said one of her favorite memoriescomesfroma simple yet profound moment shared with friends: watching the sunrise and capturing the moment on the first day of school this year.
Reflecting on her band experience, she recaled a standout moment from her sophomore year when her band received straight ones at the McAlester regional marching contest for their Elvis-themed show. It was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire group, and it remains a cherished highlight of her time in the band.
Gratitude is a recurring theme in Peralta’s reflections. She expressed her appreciation to her band directors,Mr.HastyandMrs. F, for their encouragement and guidance.
Equally important are her parents, whose sacrifices have not gone unnoticed. Peralta acknowledged their unwavering support.
'I would like to thank my parents for all the sacrifices they have both made so that I can be where I am now,' she said.
Peralta cited her parents as her greatest role models and source of inspiration.
