Showing their wares in the prestigious Pre-State Meet at Carl Albert High School last Saturday, the Madill High School cross country teams each had solid performances against a rugged field of foes.
The Wildcats placed seventh as a team while the Lady Wildcats were eighth in the Class 4A division.
They are scheduled to travel to Cameron University in Lawton for their next meet on Friday.
Dayanara Martinez-Valenciano was the top Madill finisher on the girls’ side, taking 19th individually on the 3,200-metercoursewithatime of 13 minutes, 52.26 seconds.
Jayleen Vasquez checked in 32nd at 14:45.62, Katelyn Acquaviva took 37th in 15:19.50 while Isabell Stuckey chipped in a time of 16:09.81 for 49th place. Rita Camacho contributed a 51st placing by crossing the line in 16:15.42, Klarivel Aldava was 56th at 16:50.12, Jeylah Cabrales posted a 61st with a 17:34.18, Chloe McWilliams was just behind in 62nd at 17:36.38, Samantha Ortiz ended 71st in 18:57.99 and Hadon Stuckey placed 75th clocking in at 19:41.55.
The boys’ course covered 5,000 meters as six Wildcats rounded out in the Top 50 individually with a crowded field that numbered well over 100 runners.
JaydenBarbosaclaimedthe top MHS finish with a 26th by notching a time of 18 minutes, 45.31secondsalongwithBlane Hawthorne close behind in 29th at 18:53.04.
Dylan Serrano checked in 39th in 19:35.22, Alex Gonzalez was 40th at 19:44.49, Gael Gallegostook45thwithamark of 20:10.52 and Yadel Sanchez wrapped up 47th in 20:26.18.
