The Madill Lady Wildcats overcame a third quarter slump and rallied to claim a 55-52 road win over the Tishomingo Lady Indians Dec. 13. With the win, the Lady Wildcats improved to 5-1 on the season. Meanwhile, the Lady Indians dropped to 3-2 on the season.

Madill started strong with a 10-3 lead at the end of the first quarter.

However, Tishomingo picked up the pace in the second quarter by scoring 14 points to Madill’s 16 points in the same period. At halftime, the visitors held a 26-17 lead.

However, a cause of cold shooting seemed to hit the Lady Wildcats as they were outscored 14-5 in the third quarter. The nine point swing meant the game was tied at 31 points apiece heading into the fourth quarter.

In the final period of regulation, both sides scored 16 points each sending the game into overtime with the score knotted at 47-47.

However, The Lady Wildcats pushed on and outscored their hosts eight to five in overtime to claim their fifth win of the young season.

Sophomore guard Jayden Weiberg led Madill with 18 points. Also, in double figures for the guests were junior forward Abbie Lambertsen and senior forward Kristen Chapa who each had 11 points. Sophomore guards Ximena Gomez and Joslyn Stumblingbear both scored five points. Meanwhile, Schneider had four points and Veras rounded out the scoring with one point.

The hosts featured a balanced offense. Jadyn Hook led the way with ten points. Jazz Devitt scored eight points. Both Chloo Aguirre and Harley Henry had seven points apiece. Three Lady Indians scored three points each (Kenzlea Elkins, Sloan Stover and Riley Hefner). Tishomingo had five players score two points (Hannah Campbell, Karley Stallings, Grace Anderson, Jolee Northcutt and Hailey McMillen). Laney Rogers had one point for the Lady Indians.
