“We felt like we didn’t play very clean against them (Bethel) last year, so we put an emphasis all week on being efficient and we did a really good job in that,” Kingston head coach Brad Hill stated. “They had been scoring close to 50 points a contest and we did a really goodjobdefensivelywhenour maingroupwasoutthere. We gave a lot of our backup guys most of the second half reps and Bethel kept its starters in the game so we gave up some big plays, but it was really good for us to get that many reps for our young guys even though it was against their ones.

“It was a really good night for us. We knew that game was pretty important in the district standings. We are very excited about how the kids showed up and performed.”

Next on the slate for Kingston is a return home to face Heavner, which is coming off an impressive victory over Hugo.

“It is kind of a short week to get ready for Heavener, who is 2-1 and coming off a win over Hugo,” Coach Hill added. “They have one of the best linemen in the entire district and we are expecting a tough contest. They are just behind us in the standings so each game just gets bigger and bigger as we go along.”
