While the Madill Lady Wildcats continued to peak heading toward the playoffs, the Wildcats managed to pick up their fifth win of the season to offset a couple of tough losses.
Coach Eric Holmes’ girls squad, ranked seventh in the final Class 4A poll of the season, improved its record to 19-1 on the season by avenging last year’s loss to Riverside (56-39) ahead of dismantling Marietta (74-41) and 4A rival Ada (55-32). Their winning streak extended to 17 in a row.
The Madill boys rolled to a season-high 80 points in smashing Marietta (80-59) in between the pair of losses to strong foes from Riverside and Ada.
Both teams close out the regular season at home this week with Byng on Friday and Dickson on Tuesday. They will then travel to Idabel for the district playoffs before getting the regional tournament at home.
