Weaver earns multiple top finishes in Las Vegas

Kingston High School student Ella Weaver captured a championship title and multiple top finishes at the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Level 1 Championship, held May 11-15 at the South Point Equestrian Center in Las Vegas, Nev. Her success marks a significant achievement at one of the sport’s premier events for emerging American Quarter Horse competitors.

Under the guidance of trainer Scott Suggs, Weaver exhibited S Dixie Hwy in Performance Halter and Western Pleasure and Livin My Best Life in Hunter Under Saddle. Her strong performances throughout the championship highlighted the countless hours of preparation and dedication invested by the trainer, horses and rider.

Competing against exhibitors from across the country, Weaver added prestigious honors to her growing list of equestrian accomplishments by capturing the championship title in Youth Performance HalterMaresandadding a bronze champion finish in 14–18 Western Pleasure, along with a Top 5 finish in RookieHunterUnderSaddle.

The trip to Las Vegas was especially memorable for Weaver, as it coincided with her 16th birthday and culminated in the achievement of a longtime competitive goal.

Her outstanding performances also qualified her to compete at the 2026 AQHYA World Championship Show, scheduled for July 31 – August 9 at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.
