Two high speed chases in the span of two days

Two high speed chases in Marshall County Two high-speed chases occurred in Marshall County in a span of two days. Even though neither one began in Marshall County, they both ended in Marshall County.

On June 16, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office requestingassistance.GCSO was in an active pursuit of a female involved in a domestic situation involving children.

The pursuit headed toward MarshallCounty.Then, the suspect turned back south but rerouted again toward Marshall County. MCSO Deputies and the Madill Police Department were at the state line ready for the suspect, later identified as Sabrina Daugaard. Officers set up spike strips just north of Wilis Bridge. The suspect crossed the spike strips, came to a stop and officers were able to take Daugaard into custody,eventhoughshewas allegedly being uncooperative and combative to officers.

Daugaard, a 32-year-old from Duluth, Minn., was arrested and charged with DUI, Endangering Others while Eluding/Attempting to Elude, Obstruction, Resisting and No Driver’s License. MC Sheriff Donald Yow said that Daugaard will most likely be facing charges in Grayson County, as well.

On June 17, a high-speed chasecamethroughMarshall County from the other direction but didn’t end as well as the first one.

Tishomingo Police Chief Shannon Smith said the pursuitbegan on MainStreet Tishomingo when a white pickup truck was clocked at speeds of over 100 mph. The driver, later identified as Robert Conner, was also running red lights and crossing into oncoming traffic while heading southbound on US 377 into Marshall County.

The pursuit ended on the Marshall County side after Conner hit a northbound vehicle, went into ditch and then hit a second vehicle. The accident occurred just north of Heck Road. The truck rolled three times and Conner was ejected.

Officers believe Conner wasundertheinfluencewhile driving. He was sent to the hospital for medical care.

Conner, a 45-year-old from Tishomingo is facing charges in Johnston County. An online search shows priors for Second-Degree Burglary, Larceny of an Automobile, Assault and Battery Upon a Police Officer, Public Intoxication, Resisting, Obstruction, Third-Degree Burglary, PossessionofStolen Property, Third-DegreeArsonandDUI.
