Jenna Mendiola-Marquez is a senior at Madill High School. She has been a Wildcat since the 5th grade.
Mendiola-Marque said she carries the memory of her beloved mother, Maria Mendiola, in her heart, alongside the support of her siblings: Paloma, Rosa, Jose, Isaac and her youngest sister, Angie. Together, they have shaped her into the strong, determined individual she is today.
She said her high school experience has been marked by a diverse array of activities that showcase her talents and passions. An active participant in band, soccer, wrestling, powerlifting and track and field throwing, she has embraced every opportunity to grow and excel.
She noted that one of her most cherished memories is from her 8th-grade year, a time that solidified her love for school and the friendships she built.
A standout moment in her athletic career came during wrestling when she had the joy of watching her little sister place 3rd in the state.
As she looks ahead to her future, she said she plans to pursue a career in nursing, driven by a desire to help others and make a positive impact in their lives.
Mendiola-Marque expressed her gratitude to her coaches and mentors.
“To Coach P, thank you for a good wrestling season,” she said. “To my band directors, thank you for an amazing band experience.”
She said she recognizes the profound influence of her mother.
“To my mom, thank you forshowingmewhatastrong woman looks like.”
As graduation approaches, Mendiola-Marquez is poised to take on new challenges, fueled by the love of her family and the lessons learned during her time at Madill High School.
