The Mcloud Blackberry Run Invite was held on Saturday, September 30. There were junior and high school cross country teams from thirteen schools competing in this fast paced event.
Madill’s varsity boys placed 1st in the 5000 meters run finals team event. Sophomore Sammy Duran placed 2nd in the individual with junior James Valadez coming in 3rd.
Two more sophomores followed upwithTristonBarnes in the 5th spot and Jose Campos taking 10th place.
In the varsity girls 3200 meter run final team event, Madill came in 2nd behind Yukon’s Southwest Convent School. In the high school girls individual, sophomore Yadira Barbosa placed 1st.
The middle school events showed to be just as exciting. The boys junior high team came in 1st place in the 3200 meter run event.
In the boys individual event, Jayden Barbosa came in 2nd. Alex Gonzalez, Kamden Martin, and Dylan Serrano placed 4th, 5th, and 6th with Rylan Stuckey coming in 9th.
Just as impressive were the girls junior high team who also placed 1st as a team in the 2400 meter run event. Alyvia Coles placed 3rd in individual with Lexington Willis taking 5th place.
