Kingston girls claim runner-up at Marietta Meet

    Despite having only six total runners competing, the Kingston Lady Redskin cross country still claimed teamrunner-uphonorsinthe season-opening Marietta Invitational Meet on Saturday.

    The Lady Redskins only finished behind meet champion Sulphur with four of the individual runners all concluding in the Top 20 individual standings.

    Senior Daisy Avery was the Kingston frontrunner on the 3,200-meter course with a terrific time of 12 minutes, 24.3 seconds to wrap up in third place.

    Brinlee Roberts clocked in 14th with a 13:21.4, Layla Thompson took 16th at 13:47.5 and Addie Cole was 17th in a time of 13:55.3.

    The final Lady Redskin placers were Avery Ludrick in 22nd at 14:15.6 and Kizzie Wood with a 50th in 16:54.7.
