A fatality accident claimed the life of a Enos woman on June 22. Gala Ainsworth, a 66-year-old female, was travelling westbound from the Roosevelt Bridge in her 2005 Dodge Neon.

The Kingston Police Department worked the accident and said while Ainsworth was heading westbound, she went left of center and hit Larry McLaughlin head on. McLaughlin was driving a 2011 Ford F150. Ainsworth was pronounced at the scene. McLaughlin had to be cut out of his vehicle and was flown to Medical City Denton with possible internal injuries.

His wife Barbara was taken to Mercy Ardmore and was released with minor injuries. McLaughlin is expected to recover, as well.

Law officials said they suspect a medical incident to be the cause of the accident. Kingston Assistant Police Chief Major Steve Miller said they suspect that because of what they saw at the wreckage.

“There were no skid marks,” Miller said. “They were both doing the speed limit at 60 miles per hour. That means you have a 120 mile per hour impact.”

That type of impact did major damage. Ainsworth’s body was transported to Watt’s Funeral Home.
