As school is off and running, we see children and buses out and about. Of course, caution is advised as we go on with our travels.
Once again, the Texoma Southern Baptist Church will host their Open Arms Clothes Closet on Saturday, August 21 from 9 a.m. to noon. There is sure to be some new clothes for school.
We had some excitement here in Buncombe Creek as many ventured out to our Jurassic Park to watch the Texoma Throw Down 2021. Every year the high-powered speed boats make their way across the lake to the various marinas to pick up their cards for the best poker hand.
The rain finally ceased, and the boats left their station around 12:30 p.m. The remainder of the afternoon was cloudy, allowing everyone to enjoy the cooler temps. Many folks brought their picnic items and lawn chairs.
Large Mouth Bass are biting fairly well right now using either head jigs or crank baits as well as plastic worms. The lake is cooling off as it currently sets at 79 degrees, so get out and do some fishing. Stay safe and have a good week.
