Kingston sweeps Valliant in baseball battles

The Kingston Redskins utilized some late-inning dramatics for an opening victory and then strong pitching in game two for an important District 3A-8 baseball sweep of Valliant last week. Coach Darron Henson’s squad allowed at least one run in every inning but got the key RBI single from Reid Patterson in the bottom of the seventh to walk off with the 11-10 triumph.

Redskins win all three Spring Break matchups

Although they might have started a little shaky, it turned into a perfect Spring Break for the Kingston baseball team as the Redskins notched wins in all three contests. Coach Darron Henson’s squad posted an 8-7 win over Coalgate,toppledHartshorne by an 8-4 count and then dispatched Henryetta, 8-0, in the week’s finale to improve their record to 5-4.

Madill Powerlifting takes 6th at state

Madill’s powerlifting team utilized several top event finishes to claim sixth place as a team in the ultra-competitive Class4Adivisionattherecent State Powerlifting Championships in El Reno. The Wildcats tallied a total of 39 points to finish one point out of the Top 5 just behind Woodward.

Arianna Stepp is the daughter of Tanya and Brad Stepp and the sister of Jenna Stepp. She is a senior in Kingston high school and has been a Redskin for her entire school career.

Redskins struggle in Silo District showdown

Over the last several years the Kingston Redskins have virtually ruled the baseball district slate, but in 2024 there may just be a new king on the block. PerennialpowerSilomade the move to Class 3A this season for the first time and took an early step ahead in the race for the District 3A-8 title with a sweep of the Redskins in district play last week.
