Madill notched five fall victories and picked up five forfeit wins to cruise to a dominant 60-18 dual wrestling win over Ardmore in high school action last week to up its season record to 5-4. The junior high Wildcats dropped a narrow 35-30 verdict to the Tigers.

Cristian Veras got the Madill varsity off and running with a second period fall triumph against Ardmore’s Evan Smith at 106 pounds. Triston Barnes, Braxton Gimenez and Colton Sandefur then followed with three straight forfeit triumphs to push the advantage for 24-0 before the host Tiges ever got on the board.

At 138 pounds, Aaron Recio dropped a fall decision to Ardmore’s Charles Smith in the second period but Madill responded with three consecutive first period pins as the lead ballooned to 42-6.

Brylon Gibson stopped Sean Holland of Ardmore at 144 pounds, Christian Robledo toppled the Tigers’ Izaiah Davis at 150 and Jayden McCain turned back Ardmore’s Brayden Lewis in the 157-pound match.

The Wildcats added backto- back forfeit victories from Tyner Roberts at 165 and Dylan Castanada at 175.

Aaron Rodriguez fell by second period fall to Coda Saentz from Ardmore at 190 with Noa Seal finishing up the Madill triumphs with a second period fall as well over Admore’s Jayden Phan at heavyweight.

Madill scored an early forfeitwinbyCanyonPhillips in the junior high 80-pound openerbeforeArdmorereeled off a string of eight consecutive wins, including five on decisions.

Saul Martinez fell 11-3 at 92 pounds, Layne Dorer dropped a narrow 9-8 verdict at 98, Dayton Gimenez was clipped 8-6 at 126, Moises Bautista was narrowly outscored 12-11 at 132 and Yael Corona dropped the 12-9 verdict at 140.

Down 35-6, the Wildcats answered with victories in the final four weight classes to make a run at the team win.

Alex Romero scored a second period fall win against Ardmore’s Anthony Webb at 155poundsandEnriqueMartinez picked up a first period pin fall of Jayden Cantley from Ardmore at 195. Juna Narvaez and Gabe Knight were forfeit winners at 170 pounds and heavyweight.
