Madill Cross Country places at Waurika Invitational

The Wildcats traveled to Waurika for the Waurika Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, October 10. Overall the boys team got first place, and the girls team claimed third place. The team was to run the Reuel Little on October 3 but it was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. Head Coach Cale Eidson said even though the boys had a bye the week before, they ran well.

“The boys ran better this week after being off last week, but the girls struggled,” Eidson said.

For the boys team, Miguel Duran ran for first place with a time of 16:43. Other runners included: Anthony Sanchez (17:44); Brodie Tull (17:46); Angel Granados (18:09); Gael Salinas (19:28); Osvaldo Ariciaga (19:47); Armando Gonzalez (19:48); Cesar Moreno (21:45); Sahith Gondi (22:33); David Mendez (23:25); Benjamin Hernandez (23:27); and Jose Ariguiano (23:44).

First place for the girls was Isabel Sanchez running a 12:17. Other girl runners were: Valeria Calderon (13:22); Carol Moreno (13:34); Maritsa Mendez (14:02); Mercedes Stumblingbear (14:04); Joslyn Stumbkingbear (14:07); Korlee Cunningham (14:14); Lala Flores (14:30); Nathali Ibarra (14:40); Esperanza Hernandez (14:47); Fernanda Hernandez (14:50); Ariana Espinoza (14:51); Camila Hernandez (14:56); Jaslyn Grimaldo (15:17); Yailin Serrano (15:20); Tarah Wiese (17:09); and Mariana Mendez (18:25).

The cats will run at Byng on October 13 and then Regionals on October 24.
