The Wildcats hosted the Cat Run on Saturday, September 5, at Madill City Lake. The high school boys took first place, with the high school girls claiming third place.
Head coach Cale Eidson said they have improved, but there is still work to be done.
“We ran better as a whole, but still need our back runners to step up,” he said. Running hard for a top ten
Running hard for a top ten place in the boys 5k were Miguel Duran (5:24) second place; Angel Granados (5:54) eighth place and Brodie Tull (6:05).
Speer said they all contributed to the win, but there was one who made the difference.
“Miguel ran well, but the real difference maker for the boys was Angel Granados,” said Eidson.

The girls ran two miles with Madill’s, Isabel Sanchez, finishing second place (6:50). Eidson said, “Isabel Sanchez had another good race and ran well.” Valeria Calderon took fifth place (7:03). Other Lady Wildcat runners were Joslyn Stumblingbear (7:33); Mercedes Stumblingbear (7:46); Maritsa Mendez (7:49); Carol Moreno (7:53); Korlee Cunningham (8:00); Jaslyn Grimaldo (8:15); Fernanda Hernandez (8:23); Nathali Ibarra (8:23); Lala Flores (8:25); Esperanza Hernandez (8:25); Ariana Espinoza (8:36); Yailin Serrano (9:14); Tarrah Wiese (9:43); and Mariana Mendez (10:17).
Madill will host the LCC meet on Saturday, September 12, at 9:00 a.m. at Madill City Lake.
