Madill traveled to Dickson to play the Dickson Comets on Friday, January 7. The Lady Wildcats played a tough game but lost 43 to 50. Head Coach Shawn Runyan said that Dickson was a tough opponent.

"Dickson plays really hard and rebounds so hard," he said.

The Lady Comets led the Lady Wildcats 26 to 24 at halftime. Madill struggled making free shots when sent to the line.

"Our free throw percentage was terrible, 9 for 24 and you won't win many games missing 15 free throws," said Runyan.

SeniorJayden Weibergled the Lady Wildcats scoring 15 points for the game and sophomore Haylee Elkins added 10 points to the game. The Lady Cats had a better third quarter but couldn't keep the pace with Dickson in the fourth quarter.

"Offensively we played decent, missed a few shots we should have made," said Runyan. "Defensively we did better keeping them off the boards, it still needs to be better."

The Wildcats had no problems beating the Comets, winning36to 18.HeadCoach Brett W eiberg said they boys had no trouble knocking the rust off after a three-week hiatus.

"It was our first game in almost three weeks, and I am pleased with how we performed. Winning is never easy and winning on the road is even harder. I am proud of the boys," Wieberg said.

Madill led the Comets to halftime, 17 to 7. Senior Nick Northcutt was lead scorer with 14 points for the game and senior Ezekiel Fuentes had eight points.

"Offensively, the best thing we did was crash the glass. Our offensive rebounding was vital in helping us score and creating the gap in time of possession," said Wei berg. "Our kids did a good job defensively. Especially in the first. I thought we were active, and I thought that changing defenses was effective for us. Senior Javier Gomez had a big night defensively and I am proud of him."
