Jayden Butts is a senior at Madill High School. She has attended the Madill public schools since Pre-K. Her parents are Corey and Bethany Butts and grandparents are Mark and Lori Littrell, and great grandmother is Leah Rogan.Shehasthreeyounger sistersnamedSophie,Emma and Adelyn.
As a senior, Butts participates in cheerleading, wrestling, and color guard. However, in previous years, she participated in track, competitive cheer, cross country and basketball. Over the years, she has received many medals in track and cross country as well as placed in a few cheer competitions. Through all her activities and school, Butts said her biggest challenge hasbeen,“learningtobalance school and extracurricular activities.”
She said that she wanted to be a cheerleader ever since she was little.
“As a kid I was inspired and looked up to the high school cheerleaders, and ever since I’ve worked to be just like they were.”
Butts said her favorite memory from being in cheer is when they traveled to the away games, and all the cheerleaders are on the bus, listening to music and singing along.
She said her coaches and parents have been a major part of her life.
“I’d like to say thank you to my coaches for everything they have done for me over the years,” she said. “Thank you for always pushing me to be my best and helping me succeed.”
“My parents have inspired me in life.,” she continued. “I’ve watched them go through many things together and they’ve taught me to keep going no matter what. They have pushed me tobemybestandhavehelped me succeed in life. But not only that, I am thankful for everything they have done for me. All the early morning drop offs at school and latenight pickups.”
After high school, Butts said she plans to attend SoutheasternUniversityand get a degree in pre-physical therapy. Her advice for the younger classmen is, “make sure to focus on your grades, but also make sure to have fun. You’re only a kid once so make sure to make the best of it.”
