It was a solid showing for a handful of Kingston athletes with Top 10 placings in the Oklahoma Indoor Track and Field Championship preliminaries held Saturday at the University of Oklahoma.
Coby Davis spurred the Lady Redskin competitors in the event, finishing with a runner-up effort in the 200 meters while clocking in at 26.69 seconds. The junior standout was also seventh in the 60 meters with a time of 8.13 seconds. Both marks punched her title for the title round slated for Saturday, February 21 back at OU.
Fellow junior Carli Lilley qualified as well in the shot put, placing ninth with a heave of 32 feet, 8.25 inches.
Kingston also had a pair of relay Top 10 showings as thefoursomeofVivianCobbs, Davis, Kenley Hallum and Kate Ratzlaff was seventh in the 1,600 meters at 4:35.44. The grouping of Daisy Avery, Addie Cole, Massey and LaylaThompsonalsocrossed the tape in seventh for the 3,200 relay in a time of 11:27.93.
The Redskin boys had one qualifier for the state championships as senior Logan Stephens sprinted to a fifth place mark of 7.18 seconds in the 60 meters as well.
