The Madill Lady Wildcats notched their sixth victory of the season last week against Marietta before seeing their fastpitch campaign come to an end in the Class 4A regional tournament.
Madill blitzed Marietta, 131, before a 14-3 loss to Harrah and were on the short end of an 18-8 verdict to Bishop McGuinness.
IntheMariettavictory,they made the most of just four hits and only committed one error as the Lady Wildcats scored seven runs in the first frame and six in the second to cruise to the win. Aubrey Orr, Layne Albright and Madi Cryer combined for an inning apiece in the pitching decision as they yielded just one unearned run on two hits, struck out five and walked two.
Madill had just four hits in the contest led by a pair from Lanna Wigington, who also drove in two runs and scored once. Kinsley Troxtell chipped in a double and knocked in two while Leighton Clement added theotherLadyWildcathitwith a single.
Thedefensefalteredagainst Harrah with 10 errors leading to all 14 runs being unearned. The Lady Wildcat offense rose to the occasion in notching eight hits, three of which came from Jade Soto. Chloe Miller tallied a pair of doubles and drove in a run with Orr also tacking on two hits, including a double. Troxtell had the team’s other hit on a double.
MadillequaledMcGuinness with 11 hits in the finale but a whopping13errorsthatproved costly.
Orr had a massive game at the plate by going a perfect four for four, including a home run, triple and a pair of doubles, three runs scored and one RBI.
Troxtell also provided two doubles and knocked in four. Miller tossed in a pair of hits while Wigington, Tillie Chapa and Karma Williams each had one.
