At just 14 years old, Vidal relocated to Roscoe, Texas, where he immediately set to work in the cotton gins and building chicken houses.
On February 12, 1987, 39 years ago today, Vidal and Sandy went on their first date and they were married on November 1, 1987, in Coleman, Okla. and their marriage was blessed with two children and they made their home on Cheadle Road, where they have remained on their home property since, building a life rooted in faith and family.
Vidal was a dedicated professional in the oil and gas industry. He began his career as a floor hand for Sutherland Well Service in Madill, where he worked until September 2024, before transitioning to Calvary Well Service until the time of his passing.
Beyond his primary career, Vidal was a skilled foreman and businessman. He oversaw numerous construction jobs and took great pride in employing many of his friends. He spent countless hours breaking and training horses under the light of his barn. However, his favorite job title and hobby was being a “Peepaw.”

He has volunteered many hours and auctioneered hundreds of charitable events for more than 30 years, including the Johnston County Reaching Out Cake and Pie Auction Fundraiser, Madill First Baptist Church, Multiple County Fire Departments, numerous benefits for local community members, as well as the Auctions for the Clarita Amish community. He was the President for the Johnston County Riding Club for numerous years and a founding Board member for the Family Health Center of Southern Oklahoma.
Vidal worked tirelessly as a volunteer for the Milburn Old Settlers Day; he could be found every year holding the “turtles under the bucket” for the children’s turtle race.
For over 20 years he could be found working as Santa’s Helper at the Milburn School. Vidal took pride in wearing the red suit for the local community.
He also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: fishing, breaking horses in his younger years and spending Sundays watching the Dallas Cowboys.
