Sharron Ann Watts
Sharron Ann Watts, 81, of Madill, Okla., passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2026, in Granbury, Texas. She was born on January 19, 1945, in Sulphur, Okla., to the late Alvis Lee McAffrey and Velma Oleta Hunt McAffrey.
Sharron was raised in Sulphur, where she attended school and graduated with the Class of 1963. On November 2, 1963, she married Marvin Bryant Watts, at the First United Methodist Church in Madill. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family and service to their community.
A lifelong learner, Sharron returned to school once her children were older, to pursue her calling in healthcare. She earned her Registered Nurse degree from Murray State College in Tishomingo in 1984. She had a servant’s heart and was deeply committed to caring for others, she established the Four Square Hospice in Madill and later transitioning it to the care of Integris Hospital.
Sharron was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Madill, where she was active in all aspects including the children’s choir, VBS, the youth ministry, Zelma’s Bazaar and a member of the Chancel Choir. She poured her time and love into her community, serving on the Madill Daycare Board, and the Madill City Library Board. She was a member of Madill Daughters and The Garden Club. Her life was a reflection of kindness, generosity and quiet strength.
At home, she was the heart of her family: a devoted wife, loving mother and cherished grandmother. Sharron found joy in attending all of her grandchildren’s activities, spanning from football games, track meets, softball games, cheerleading, dance recitals and livestock shows. She also enjoyed tending to her flower beds, traveling to new places and getting lost in a good book. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and always an open door.
Sharron was preceded in death by her parents, Alvis Lee McAffrey and Velma Oleta Hunt McAffrey.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Marvin Bryant Watts; children, Shannon Watts Newton and husband Nate, M.B. Watts and wife Sarah, Brad Watts and wife Ashley; treasured grandchildren, Shelby Newton Wallace and husband Kirk, Tatum Newton Stedman and husband Dawson, Macy Watts, Marvin Bryant Watts III, Ella WattsEvan Watts; brother, Alvis Lee McAffrey and husband John David McAffrey; sisters, Brenda Liston, Penny Chastain and husband Mike, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the family she loved so dearly and the community she faithfully served. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her caring heart and the way she made everyone feel like family.
Visitation was Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service was 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Joe Patterson officiated the service. Interment was at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery in Madill, Okla. Service was under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla.
Casket Bearers were Bryant Watts III, Nate Newton, Chase Brooks, Bob Walker, Jirl Buck and Keith Long.
Honorary Bearers were Tony Chaney, Bill Chapman, David Dunn, Pat Howe, Jim Bob Laird, Dan Little and Bink Stafford.
