Katharine Virgina Kendrick

Katharine Virginia Kendrick, 69 of Kingston, Okla., passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. She was born on August 11, 1952, in Madill, Oklahoma to William Overton Buck and Ellen Little Buck.

Kathy was raised in Kingston where she graduated high school in 1970. She attended SOSU in Durant, Okla.where she received her bachelor’s degree, graduating in 1974. She later received her master’s degree in 1976.

She started her career with the Kingston Public Schools in January of 1975 and taught for 31.5 years, retiring in May 2006. Kathy received the Teacher of the year in 2005.

She married Robert L. Kendrick on December 26, 1980, in Madill. They were married 40 years, eight months and one day at the time of her passing. In 2006, Kathy started working for Walmart as a cashier and was transferred to pharmacy as a sale clerk. She was a member of the Kingston Alumni Association and attended 51 banquets without missing.

She is survived by her husband, Robert “Rob” Kendrick of Kingston, Okla., children: Robert O. Kendrick and wife Sunday of Calera, Okla., Jordan Kendrick and wife Chloe of Kingston, Okla., four grandchildren: Gabe, Daniel, Autumn and Alfred Kendrick.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother in-law; Bob and Lois Kendrick, one brother; William Buck, one brother in-law; Don Kendrick.

Visitation was held Monday, August 30, 2021, at the Watts Funeral Home in Kingston, Okla. from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and a family hour from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Services were 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the Kingston First Baptist Church in Kingston, Okla. Steve Beebe, Joe and Sandy Patterson officiatef the service. Music esd arranged by Mark Atteberry and FBC Praise Team. Service ertr under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla .. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.

Casket Bearers were Robert O. Kendrick, Jordan Kendrick, Chris Sherwood, Jirl Buck, Jay McAdams, and Guy Massey.

Honorary Bearers were Chris Straub, Sterling Little, and the Class of 1970 Kingston High School.
