Harold Denson Brown, Jr., 76, of Madill, Okla.passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021, at home. He was born on September 27, 1944, in Waukegan, Ill. to Harold Denson Brown, Sr. and Inola Marjorie Frost Brown. Harold was raised in Madill and graduated from Madill High School in 1962.
He joined the United States Navy and served on a patrol ship during the Vietnam War. After his service in the Navy, he studied at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Okla.where he met Rebecca (Becky) Jeanne Hooper. The two were married on March 24, 1973, in Durant. They were devoted to one another until her death in 2016.
Harold worked for WW Trailers for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Madill where he sang in the choir. He spent a lot of time outdoors camping, fishing, and backpacking. His knowledge of these outdoor arts were a gift he shared with the local Boy Scout Troop. He had a deep love and respect for the Boy Scouts and served as local Scoutmaster for over 38 years. In his years with the Scouts, he received District Scoutmaster of the Year twice, the District Award of Merit, and the Silver Beaver Award, all recognizing outstanding leadership in the troop and district. Recently Harold was inducted into the BSA Chickasaw District Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his children; Elizabeth Scott and husband Yannash of Madill, Okla., Katie Hill and husband Brad of Alva, Okla., four grandchildren; Ryan Scott of Madill, Okla., Jasper Denson Scott of Madill, Okla., Megan Hill of Pheonix, Ariz., James Denson Hill of Alva, Okla., and mother Inola Brown of Madill, Okla. Harold was preceded in death by his father; wife;

Service will be Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Madill, Okla. Pastors Steve and Wanda Littrell will officiate the service. Music arranged by Sue Beard.
