Carrie Isabell Frank, 89, of Madill Okla. passed away on October 26, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family singing her favorite hymnals. She was born on May 31, 1935, to Verg “Red” and Edith Mable Reid Self. Carrie was raised in the Madill area where she attended Madill Public School and graduated in May 1956.

CarriewasdiagnosedwithTuberculosis when she around 14 years of age, and spent two and a half years in Talihina where she received treatment. The years battling tuberculosis shaped her resilience and character, helping make her into the strong women she became. Those challenging days taught her the value of patience, perseverance, and a closer relationship with the Lord.

Carrie met David Thomas “Tom” Frank, the love of her life, at an ice-skating rink in Dallas. Tom was immediately smitten with Carrie, but she didn’t let him win her over easily. After only five short months of dating, they realized they found something truly special and wanted to spend the rest of their lives as a married couple. They were married on January 11, 1958, in Dallas, Texas. They were happily married for 66 years. Carrie and Tom built their life in Dallas, Texas, Artesia NM, Sherman Texas, and finally returning to Madill Okla. in 1974.

Carrie had a passion for sewing and quilting, spending countless hours crafting beautiful and intricate quilts. Each one was a labor of love, often made as special gifts for family members to cherish. Carrie also enjoyed being a part of the Marshall County quilting club, where she connected with fellow quilters who shared her love of quilting. Carrie cherished cooking for her precious family, delighting them with her cinnamon rolls, enchilada pie, Thanksgiving dressing and all the other dishes crafted by her gentle hands.

As a pastor’s wife, with her quiet strength, she brought light, love and compassion to the church family. She enjoyed teaching Vacation Bible School and Sunday School classes. Her greatest role in life was being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and greatgreat- grandmother. Carrie is preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Virgil Self Jr., Elmo Self and Horace Self.

She is survived by her husband David Thomas “Tom” Fran;, children and spouses, Valerie and Terry Bartee, DaveandJanaFrank,andRachelandGaryMoore;sixteen grandchildren, Renee and Lynn Richards, Andrew and Rachel Bartee, Melissa and Chaz Cargal, Christopher and Cheyenne Bartee, Sonya and Brian Campbell, Jordan and Nikki Pryor, Megan and Michael McCarthy, Jennifer and Casey Cook, and Kelsey and Eddie Brown: thirty great-grandchildren, Zachary, Emilie and Trevor, Jacob, Colton and Emilie, Hailey, Kaid, Karringtyn, Jax, Serina, Chloe, Cassidy, Lexi, Brison and Samantha, Stephen and Darla,HunterandTaya,Hannah,Madelenn,John,Emery, Isabelle, Grady, Jameson, Kove, Daeto, and Bowen; five great-great grandchildren, Breyer, Shaylei, Jessaleigh, Carsyn, Lindsey, and two more blessings on the way; brother Billy Self and wife Anita; sister-in-law, Diane Self and a host of family and friends.

The family would like to thank Toni Pickering and especially Sabrina Blake for the care, love, compassion and grace they continually showed Carrie.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family hours from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral service will be Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Watts Memorial Chapel in Madill, Okla. Gary Dempsey, Cecil Mackey and Lyndol Adams will officiate the service. Music arranged by Rachel Moore and Megan McCarthy. nterment will be at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery in Madill, Okla. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla. Pallbearers will be Lynn, Andrew, Chaz, Christopher, Brian, Jordan, Michael, Casey and Eddie Honorary Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons.
