Madill junior Abby Zang earned her way into the Oklahoma Music Educators Association (OKMEA) AllState Treble Chorus and sang during the state convention over the weekend in Tulsa.
"She represented n ot only our school, but our community extremely well with her hard work, dedication and pure talent," Madill High School vocal music teacher Samantha Faulker said.
Zang participated in three separate auditions to reach the all-state st atus and perform in the prestigious group. Two auditions were held in the fall. The third audition was completed on site at the convention inside th e Performing Arts Center in Tulsa.
"With the vocal auditions they h ave 4 songs th ey start out the year with. This year it cont ained a song in Latin, a song in German, a lyrical piece and then a technical piece. Each audition sh e took part in they t ook different parts from a mix of t he songs. It included the lyrical, the German, and the Latin songs," Faulkner said about the competitions earlier in the year .
"Ms. Zang took her place and did a t remendous job performing with the OKMEA All-State Treble Choru s," Faulkner said of Zang's participation over the weekend.
