The people of Oklahoma Oil & Natural Gas have awarded Kingston Elementary School 4th grade teacher Jessica Thompson with $5,000 dollars for being recognized as one of the Top Ten Teachers of 2022.
Thompson was selected out of more than 200 nominations for her outstanding work in engaging students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and going the extra mile for her students.
“Ms. Thompson was able to build a STEM lab for her students when other programs of the kind were non-existent. She has continued to build and add on to the program over the years,” said Katie Colburn. “Ms. Thompson is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure her students succeed.”
Kingston Elementary School will also receive $2,000.
“One of our core missions is upporting education,” said Oklahoma Energy Resources Board Executive Director Mindy Stitt. “The people of Oklahoma Oil and Natural Gas are passionate about recognizing teachers for their efforts in creating the next generation of leaders.”
