On February 21, 2022, we celebrate President’s Day in recognition of Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln’s Birthdays. In fact, the date is set between both president’s birthdays to accommodate recognition of both (George Washington’s is February 22, and Abraham Lincoln’s is February 12.
According to the National Today website, President’s Day is celebrated the third Monday of February. May we always be grateful for the sacrifices of our leaders who brought us to where we are.
The Texoma Fire District Board of Directors meets the first Thursday of the month at the Training/Community Center at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
The Texoma Fire District Auxiliary meets the third Monday of the month at 10978 Parkview, just south of Rooster Creek Bridge at 1:30 p.m. with a social gathering at 1:00 p.m.
The exercise/stretching classes are on Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. and the cards/games are on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 12:30 p.m. Auxiliary members are welcome to join in on the fun. Bring finger foods to share and have a fun time.
For anybody interested in renting the Texoma Community Building, contact Gayla Freeman at 580-565-4043 and leave a message. She will get return the call. The cost is $75 per day. The interested party must be a member of the Texoma Fire District.
For anybody interested in joining the Texoma Volunteer Fire Department, contact Chief Todd Cissell at 580-565-4491. Applications can be picked up from the mailbox at the Texoma Fire Station located at 10089 Texoma Park Rd., Kingston, Okla. Training will be provided.
