Two Kingston men, Drew Mullins and Steven Mullins were placed under arrest after an incident on April 28, 2021. The incident began with a Domestic Assault call to a residence on Drew Avenue.
When Marshall County Deputy Kristen Floyd arrived on scene, she noted a knot on the complainant’s forehead. The reporting party alleged that she and her father were arguing, and she told him “memaw raised you better than that.”
The memaw she was referring to was Steven’s mother who had recently passed away. While the father and daughter were arguing, Drew was in his bedroom. He heard his sister make the comment about their memaw and exited his room with a 2x4.
Drew allegedly proceeded to hit the victim in the bicep with the board. He then dropped the board and grabbed the victim by the neck.
The victim scratched Drew while trying to get out of his grip. That is when Drew allegedly wrestled her to the ground, and she hit her head on the table – causing the lump that Floyd noticed.
Drew then allegedly got the victim bent over the table, and Steven, the dad grabbed the board and spanked her with it a few times. Once the incident ended, the victim went to a relative’s house and called 911.
Floyd Mirandized Drew and asked his side of the story. The only thing different in his story was he alleged that the victim charged at him first. Drew, a 19-year-old from Kingston was then arrested for Domestic Abuse/Assault and Battery.
On April 29, charges were brought against Steven for Domestic Abuse/Assault and Battery, as well.
