Dominance exemplified wasthestoryfortheKingston Lady Redskin softball team as they romped to three Class 3Aregionaltournamentwins last week.
Kingston blasted Spiro, 14-0, in the opener and then notched 10-0 and 18-2 run rule decisions against Dewey to cruise into this week’s Super Regional round in quest of their first fastpitch statetournamentappearance since 2018.
The Spiro contest only last two and a half innings as the Lady Redskins exploded for seven runs in each of the first two stanzas, needing only six hits to do so. Destry Davis was the only Kingston player with more than one hit, tallying a single and double.KeetonHatleytripled and ended the game with a team-best four runs driven in. Madi Hammond notched a hit and two RBI with Kate Ratzlaff and Kanna Stroud adding the other singles.
Stroud also worked all three innings in the pitching circle for the victory on a onehit shutout that included four strikeouts.
In the Dewey opener, Gracie Bridgman fired four strong frames, giving up just one hit and fanned nine, with Khloe Hall adding a pair of strikeouts on one stanza of relief.
Kingston plated at least one run in every inning of the run rule affair while piling up 12 hits in doing so. Three of those came from Hall as she alsodroveintworuns.Stroud chipped in two hits, including a triple and two RBI, and Ratzlaff pitched in a pair of singles and scored twice.
Davis, Hatley, Emma Bridgeman, Dextry Bowerman and Hammond all had one hit.
The finale was a rout from the start as Kingston raced out to a 4-0 edge, fueled by a Stroud two-run homer, and never looked back while pounding 14 hits and cashing in four Dewey errors. Stroud finished with three hits and four batted in with Bowerman also adding three hits, including a pair of doubles, and three RBI. Ratzlaff also produced three hits.
Kingston also got two hits, including a triple and three driven in, from Hammond. Hall,Ava Bain and Bridgeman also contributed a hit apiece.
Bridgman and Hall combined for that pitching triumph as they scattered five hits and fanned five.
