Wildcat season ends in baseball regional

Offense was difficult to come by for the Madill Wildcats as they dropped a pair of outings in the Class 4A regional at Sulphur to see their baseball season come to an end last week. The Wildcats were on the short end of an 11-1 decision to Sulphur ahead of a 9-0 setback to Woodward in the finale. Madill spotted powerful Sulphur a 10-0 edge through four stanzas before plating its lone run of the contest. Daquan Williams led off with adoubleandeventuallycame around to score on a Rankin Page two-out single to center. That accounted for two of the squad’s four hits in the outing as Sanchez and Roberts contributed a single apiece.

The Wildcats actually produced nearlydoublethesame hit total in the nightcap but could never crack the scoreboard against the Boomers despite seven singles. Cooper McHatton and Williams each notched two of the hits with one apiece from Derwin Sanchez, Tyner Roberts and Jagger Rogers.
