Vick
Wanda Lucille Cooper Vick, 84, peacefully entered the arms of her Savior Jeasus Christ on January 7, 2025 at Silverleaf II Assisted Living and Memory care in Denison, Texas after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on November 9, 1940, in Madill, Okla. to Oneta and Vernon Cooper.
Wanda graduated from Kingston High School in 1958 where she was a band member. She was a proud member of the KHS Alumni Association and always enjoyed going back to Kingston as often as she could for the annual banquet and induction activities for the Senior class.
Wanda married Earl Vick and they moved first to Oklahoma City and then to Ponca City in 1966 where they raised their two children – Sabrena and Robby. Wanda went back to work in the mid 1970’s at Security Bank. She loved the banking industry and started out as teller, and then moved up to other areas such as loans, trust department, and other positions and was a valued member of that bank for many years. After Security Bank changed hands multiple times, she accepted a position at First National Bank of Oklahoma where she retired in 2007. She made many wonderful friends who were like family to her during her banking career.
Wanda loved watching her kids and grandkids in all their endeavors – sports, band, or whatever they were participating in and almost never missed watching them in whatever they were doing. She also very much-loved spending time with friends and family and especially looked forward to the Cooper Family Reunion every year since 1997. She was a longtime member of The First Presbyterian Church in Ponca where she had many friends. Wherever she went, she made friends easily because of her sharp wit and caring heart. The friends of her kids and grandkids became her kids and grandkids also and she will be missed by so many.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Oneta; and granddaughter, Jennah Hayes.
She is survived by her brother, Vernon Cooper; daughter, Sabrena and husband David Keathly; son, Robby; grandkids, Rhiannon Parks, Wheeler Hayes; Cole Vick, Clay Vick and spouse Kendyl Baugus, and their mom Karmen Larsen; great grandkids, Troy and Hadley Parks and Jaxson Vick; nephews, great nieces; great nephews,;and a slew of cousins whom she loved very much.
We are very grateful to Silverleaf Assisted Living and Traditions Hospice for their wonderful care over the last two years of our beloved mom, grandmother and greatgrandmother.
In lieu of flowers, you may choose to donate in her name to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
