Glenna Jane Steele, 82 of Kingston, Okla. passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. She was born on July 19, 1944, in Childress, Texas, to the late Otis Glenn Couch and Lanie Jane Tillery Wellman.
Glenna attended school in Turkey, Texas, until 1960. Her family moved to Texhoma,Okla.whereshegraduatedfrom Texhoma High School in 1962.
Glenna married Merle Boyd Steele on March 16, 1962, in Gruver, Texas and he preceded her in death on March 22, 2023. In 1964, she moved to Las Vegas, Nev., where she lived before moving to Kingston in 2004 where she lived the rest of her life.
Glennawasahardworkingwomanwhoownedandoperated her own business in the water well service industry. Glenna enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved playing cards, watching Grey’s Anatomy and putting together puzzles. Most of all, she treasured spending time with her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was a very special part of her life, and the memories they made together will be cherished always.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Mary Ann Carlisle; brother-in-law, Marvin Carlisle; brother, Darrel Couch.
Glenna is survived by her daughter, Shannon Wyatt and husband Erick of Kingston, Okla.; brothers, Bud Couch and wife, Glenda, of Victoria, Texas, Stanley Couch of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Allison Jane Boone of Durant, Okla., Jillian Taylor Boone of Kingston, Okla., Peyton Michelle Giles of Kingston, Okla., Lexi Wyatt of Kingston, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Braxton Glenn and Camdyn Thomas of Durant, Okla.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 Visitation will be Friday, September 18, 2026, at Watts Funeral Home in Kingston, Okla. from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a family hour from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at Watts Funeral Home in Kingston, Okla. Interment will be at the Woodville Cemetery in Kingston, Okla. Service is under the direction of Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Okla.
Casket Bearers will be Alex Forder, Harlie Fowler, Ezekiel Thomas, Jimi Anderson, Darrell Glenn Couch and Todd Cissell.
