The Madill track and field teams opened the 2026 season with solid performances as the girls claimed second and the boys third at the Plainview Twilight Meet last week.
In the girls’ team standings, the Lady Wildcats checked in only behind Plainview while the Wildcats settled behind just Plainview and Byng.
Sophomore Hadon Stuckey spurred the Lady Wildcat effort with a winning time of 27.26 seconds in the 200 meterswhileteammateJoshlynn Clayburn added a fifth in 28.61 seconds.
Madill notched big points in the 300 hurdles, claiming four of the top six positions. Isabell Stuckey was the ringleader with a runner-up effort in posting a time of 50.05 seconds. Uriana Rivera was third at 52.97, Jeylah Cabrales took fifth in 55.89 while Hannah Pruitt ended sixth clocking a 57.81.
Clayburn added a third in the 100 meters at 13.49 seconds with Isabell Stuckey posting third in the 100 hurdles in 18.57 and Hadon Stuckey adding a third in the pole vault with a leap of eight feet, six inches.
Senior Yadira Barbosa had a busy day, capturing third in the 1600 meters at 5:50.56, third in the 3200 meters in 12:44.31 and fifth in the 800 meters at 2:36.89.
The Lady Wildcat grouping of Clayburn, Tillie Chapa and both Isabell and Hadon Stuckey finished second in the 400 relay (51.48 seconds) and 800 relay (1:50.90) with the Madill B squad finishing third in each. They also chipped in a fifth in the 1600 relay at 4:39.14.
For the Madill boys, the top performance came from the 1600 relay quartet of Ryder Douglas, Aroddy Camacho, Justin Smith and Jaxon Diaz as they cruised to a gold winning time of 3 minutes, 34.66 seconds.
Smtih was runner-up in the 200 meters at 23.79 seconds while Douglas snagged third place marks in both the 400 meters (54.16 seconds) and 800 meters (2:04.04). Blane Hawthorne also contributed a fifth in the 400 by posting a 55.67.
The Wildcat sprint relay foursome of Camacho, Diaz, Smith and Jacob Klutnis was runner-up in 45.48 seconds, 800 relay unit of Camacho, Diaz, Smith and Brayden Valles took third at 1:35.64 while the 3200 group of Douglas, Jose Campos, Hawthorne and Jayden Barbosa checked in fourth with a time of 8:40.24.
