Evan Watts

Evan Watts is a senior cheerleader at Madill High School. She has attended Madill public schools all twelve years. She is the daughter of Brad and Ashley Watts and the sister to Ella Watts. Watts was chosen to be a 2021 NCA All-American, a two-time All Ardmoreite cheerleader, and she is also the Captain of the Madill Varsity cheer team.

She said her biggest challenge in cheer has been facing personal obstacles and pushing herself to be the best version she can be for her team. Watts said she is very grateful for her coaches for pushing her in many ways and helping her grow as a strong leader for her team.

She recalled a few of her favorite memories while participating in cheer. “My favorite memory from cheer was when I received the All-American my sophomore year and got to be in the Christmas cheer parade in Walt Disney World,” she said.

When it comes to her inspirations, she credits her family. “My sister has always been my ultimate role model in everything, but she was the reason I decided to cheer in the first place. She has helped me grow as a person and athlete,” she said. “My parents are such an inspiration to me as well in every aspect of life. Whether it may be in school, sports, or just simply in my character. They always strive to help me be the best person I can be. I am thankful for them always believing in me and helping me make my dreams come true and for supporting me through every up and down.”

After high school, Watts said she plans to attend the University of Arkansas and major in advertising and public relations. Her advice for the younger classmen is, “To never take a day for granted. Live every day like it’s your last because your young years go by in a blink of an eye.”
