Redskins sweep Frederick and honor seniors

Kingston hit the road to play a double-header at Frederick on Tuesday, September 12. The Lady Redskins surged past the Frederick Lady Bombers, shutting them out in both games, 13 to 0 and 12 to 0.

Kingston tallied up 20 hits for the day. During the first game, clutch hitting allowed the Lady Redskins to soar past the Lady Bombers with sophomore Amberly Hallum hitting a double, scoring one run; junior Ayli Minor singled, scoring one run; and freshman Alyssa Langford had a bases-clearing triple, scoring three runs. Kingston sealedupthewinwhenfreshman Khloe Hall homered to center field, scoring two runs, and senior Sydney Navarrett earned her first home run, smashed to left field, scoring three runs.

TheFrederickLadyBombers had no answer for the Lady Redskins in game two, whenseniorJaydaFoster tallied up four runs in two hits: a single in the second inning and a home run to center field in the bottom of the third. PaytonDougherty,AvaBain, and Kenadea Elkins all collected multiple hits in both games, contributing to the Lady Redskins sweeping the Lady Bombers in districts.

Kingston battled Comanche on Wednesday, September 13, but came up short. Although the Lady Redskins collected eight hits, with senior AJ Stepp hitting a solo home run to center field in the fourth, the team’s combined efforts were not enough to stop the Lady Indians. Kingston took a tough loss, 12 to 6.

The Lady Redskins hosted the Tishomingo Lady Indians for Senior Night on Monday, September 18. Senior Lady Redskins are Payton Dougherty, #9; Jayda Foster, #5; AJ Stepp, #14; Sydney Navarrett, #10; and Taloa Lewis, #22. Unfortunately, the girls were unable to prevent the Lady Indians from taking a significant lead in the first inning, due to costly errors and struggling to get the bats going. Junior Kenedea Elkins was the only one to bat in the Lady Redskins’ single run, ending with Kingston falling to the Tishomingo Lady Indians, 10-1.
