A 19-year-old woman from Ardmore was arrested on June 25 after she allegedly struck two pedestrians with her car. Officers were dispatched to a boat ramp on Lake Murray after a call about Amaya Anderson, a 19-year-old from Ardmore, allegedly striking Shakira Smith, a 24-year-old from Ardmore and Derick Peters, a 24-year-old from Lone Grove. Troopers said Anderson allegedly drove forward, striking Smith a second time.
Anderson was charged with DUI Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury and two countsofLeavingtheSceneof an Accident Involving Injury orDeath.Shewasbookedinto the Marshall County Jail.
