ATexasmanisfacingmultiple charges after a scuffle. On October 6, the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office asked theMarshallCountySheriff’s Office to check an address on Keaton Road regarding a stolen trailer.
A Marshall County Deputy arrived on scene and contacted the owner of the trailer. The deputy determined that there was a stolen fifth wheel trailer and an unknown suspect.
The deputy knocked on the door of the fifth wheel but had no luck with getting somebody to answer. Even though he heard movement inside of the trailer, nobody answered.
Other deputies were inroute to serve a search warrant at a different address when the deputies, along with Sheriff Donald Yow, were rerouted to Keaton Road.
While waiting for other deputies to arrive, the responding deputy began to check the truck that was still attached to the trailer. The truck came back as stolen along with a 9mm pistol. Once the deputy learned about thestolen pistol, hehad all person(s) retreat to a safe place in the event something happened.
The deputy then saw a male, later identified as Seth Hillard, running from the rear of the trailer. A short foot pursuit ensued, and then the deputy caught Hillard.
Allegedly, Hillard began resisting and fighting the deputy. That was when the deputy alleges that the stolen 9mm made an appearance. Allegedly, Hillard pulled the pistol from his waist band and stuck it in the deputy’s stomach.
Fortunately, the deputy’s training kicked in and he was able to take the pistol out of the equation. The deputy hurt his arm while wrestling the pistol away from Hillard.
The deputy’s radio was knocked off channel during the struggle, making it impossible to call in for back up. The deputy asked the individuals on the scene to call 911 and advise dispatch that he was in trouble.
A male individual intervened and helped the deputy gain control of the situation and Hillard. The pistol was then pulled out of Hillard’s grasp and secured.
The investigation found that everything Hillard was in possession of was stolen. Itemsrecoveredwereastolen truck, trailer, fifth wheel, $30,000 in fireworks, two motorcycles, wheels tires and other items. Officers also found Methamphetamine in the camper.
Hillard, a 30-year-old male from Muenster, Texas. is being held on a $500,000 bond and is facing multiple charges. He is facing Attempted Murder, Possession ofaFirearmDuringaFelony, Resisting, Aggravated Assault and Battery on a Peace Officer, Possession of Burglary Implements, Possession of CDS, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Firearm After the Formal Conviction of a Felony, four counts of Possession of Stolen Property and four counts of Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.
He is also wanted in several Texas counties for warrants.
