Minter said she loves where she lives.
'I have lived on the north side of Madill for almost five years, and I love growing flowers and vegetables,' she said. 'Plants enhance every inch of my yard, front and back.'
Her trees are a huge advantage in the choice of flowers that she planted in the front yard.
'This year the shade, especially, has been crucial to having beautiful plants that have a need for water often.'
'I have perennials and annuals in flower beds and in containers. Caladiums and the neon blossoms on impatients add a bit of delicate interest near larger plants. In and around those flowers, I have placed different types of solar lights with different colors and designs to brighten up the neighborhood at night year around and metal statues of various birds intermingled within the plants.'
'My goal is to mix different colorsofbloomswithavariety of shades of green plants to create an attractive color palette for my front yard every year.'
'The yard has a variety of exotic and more traditional plants with colors, textures, and different heights. The elephant ears, ferns, hydrangeas, bird of paradise, banana trees, pineapple plants and tropical hibiscus are helpful in creating a more exotic look in the front yard.'
'In the back yard, I have several peach trees trees, a fig tree, a plum tree, grape vines and black, blue and raspberry vines, sunflowers, hydrangeas peonies and plumeria along with several large container vegetable gardens and roses.'
'Threeyearsago,Iplanted Knock Out and Drift roses in my back yard due to the fact they receive more sun and will be enjoyed for years to come.'
