The monthly Kingston Public School Board of Education meeting was called to order at 6:00 a.m. by Board President Michael Herndon.
At the May 12 meeting, boardmembersapprovedthe reemployment of temporary and retired certified personnel listed on Schedule A, except for one first-year temporary contract. The board also approved the hiring of five certified employees and four non-certified employees for the upcoming school year.
Approved certified staff included Alisha Khan, Lyndon Burnett,SashaHayes.James Green and Kiera Piniock. Approved non-certified staff included Vicky Page, Paula Scott, Paloma Valadez and Kelli Mose.
The board considered entering executive session to discuss personnel matters but ultimately voted not to convene in executive session. Personnel actions were approved during the open meeting.
Board members also approved the district's continuing resolutions for the 2025-26 school year. In addition, the board approved the consent agenda, which included the April meeting minutes, financial reports, activity fund reports, student travel requests, fundraisers, transfers and routine business items.
Several resignations were accepted as part of the consent agenda, including Nikki Patterson, John Garrett Crook, Ramona Hughes, Cathy Little, Jennifer Whiteside, Ray Richards, Alison Clowers and Dwayne Taylor. The board also approved service contracts with the Oklahoma State School Boards Association (OSSBA) and the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration (CCOSA).
