On May 16, a high speed chase ended in the arrest of a Meadman.Atapproximately 2:34 a.m., a Durant Police Officer attempted to pull a Ford pickup over for a traffic violation.
Unfortunately, the driver, later identified as Christopher Neff, decided to take off instead of pulling over for the officers. Neff fled westbound on US-70 and DPD began pursuing the Ford.
Once the pursuit crossed into Marshall County, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper joined. Neff reached speeds of approximately 130 miles per hour leaving the officers trying to figure out how to stop the dangerous driver.
The OHP trooper attempted to perform a Tactical Vehicle Intervention, and caused both vehicles to leave the roadway. The trooper’s vehicle rolled and came to rest in a ditch but Neff fled the scene.
Chickasaw Lighthorse Police then joined the chase. The pursuit concluded when Neff crashed his truck at SH-32 and 99C near Lebanon. Neff, a 20-year-old from Mead,wastakenintocustody and is facing charges of DUI, Attempting to Elude and Driving Without a License.
The trooper was injured in the crash, but was treated and released from the hospital.
