Attempted kidnapping, shots fired in Marshall County

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office is working two separate incidents that occurred in the county. The first one was an attempted kinapping.

The MCSO is still searching for the suspect from the attempted kidnapping. Between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. on August4,theMCSOreceived acallfromtheDurwoodRoad area of the county.

The reporting party said that a 14-year-old female was walkingdownDurwoodRoad near Nelda Cemetery. While she was walking, a male in a black SUV stopped and attempted to get the juvenile into the vehicle.

The suspect was unsuccessful, but MCSO is actively searching for the male. The only description the MCSO has at the moment is it was a Hispanic male driving a black SUV.

The MCSO arrived on scene shortly after call, and reached out to surrounding county law enforcement. All counties are on the lookout for the vehicle.

The MCSO is asking anybody who might have information on this attempted kidnapping to please contact them at 580-795-2221.

The second incident was a shooting on August 9. Marshall County Sheriff Donald Yow released a press release with some information.

'The Marshall County Sheriffs Office, working with the Madill Police Department, are working an active crime scene in the Northern part of our County,' the press release stated.

Yow also informed the public that the incident was undercontrolandnobodywas in danger.

'Shots were fired on scene and suspect is in custody for non-life threatening wounds and receiving medical care at this time and all officers are ok.'
