Logan Rushing, a dedicated 12th grader at Madill Schools, has spent the last 14 years immersed in the vibrant community that has shaped her life. The daughter of Amanda and Terry Rushing, and the sister of Tyner Rushing, she has been inspired by her loving family, including grandparents Robby and Vicky Henry, and Neil and Kathy Duncan.
Throughout her high school journey, Rushing has actively participated in various activities, showcasing her leadership and talent. As the Varsity Cheer Captain and the Senior Class Secretary, she has led her team with enthusiasm and spirit while also playing a vital role in representing her class. Her involvement extends to Varsity Archery, Student Council, National Honor Society, and Gifted & Talented programs, reflecting her diverse interests and commitment to excellence.
Looking ahead, Rushing plans to attend the University of Oklahoma, where she hopes to further her education and explore new opportunities.
When reminiscing about her favorite memories from school, Rushing highlighted homecomingweekasastandout experience. The joy of collaborating with friends to create floats and dressing up for the festivities has made those moments unforgettable.
In terms of football memories, Rushing said she treasures the moments spent cheering for her brother during their victories against Kingston in her freshman and sophomore years. The special bond they shared during the tussle, painting their names beside each other, created memories she will always hold dear.
Rushing expressed heartfelt gratitude to her coaches, particularlyhermom,Amanda, who has been her cheer coach throughout her life.
'I am so grateful to get to share all of the amazing memories that cheerleading has brought us both,” Rushign said. “I love you so much, Momma, and I am so thankful that you are always there right by my side!'
She also extended her appreciation to Mrs. Burnett, describing her as an amazing person who has become like a second mother to her.
'I am forever grateful for our relationship and all of the advice and leadership you have given me over the years. Love you.'
To Coach Baker and Brenda McHatton, Rushing expressed her gratitude for their unwavering belief in her.
'Thankyouforeverything! You both believed in me and never let me give up,” she said. “I am so grateful that you made me join archery. It was a decision I will never regret making, and I am so thankful for your support and love.'
Rushing shared her deep love for her parents.'
I love you both. You have supported me and stood by my side my whole life,” she said. “I am so lucky to have such strong parents that inspire me every day. Because of you both, I know I can do anything that I set my mind to.'
When it comes to inspiration, Rushing said she looks to the character Elle Woods from the movie 'Legally Blonde.'
'Elle did not let anyone doubt her and showed everyone that just because she loved pink, she could change the world,” she said. “I aspire to be a real-life Elle Woods and make a difference just like she did!'
In sports, Rushing said she draws inspiration from her brother, Ty.
'He was always the best leader and inspired so many people. I hope to lead my teams, school, and community just like Ty Rushing.'
As she prepares for the next chapter of her life, Rushing said she has some words of advice for her younger classmates.: 'Always stay involved,” she advised. “One day you will graduate, and you will regret everything that you did not attend! Our school is filled with so many amazing opportunities and people— take advantage of that.'
