Two big play early touchdowns provided the spark and Kingston exploded from there in cruising past Heavener, 52-14, on the road last week.

The Redskins, who were ranked sixth in the state in last week’s Associated Press poll, improved to 6-1 on the season and will be back home Friday for Senior Night against Prague.
“Thekidscameoutfocused and ready to play in spite of our schedule being a little off with Fall Break,” said head coach Brad Hill. “We ended up having a really good night. Parks was spectacular offensively. He touched the ball offensively just seven times but had over 250 yards and three touchdowns. Walker had a great night on defense as well.
“I thought we prepared well and came out ready to go from the start. It was a really good win for us.”
Heavener answered the early Kingston blitz with a scoring drive for a touchdown pass that cut the margin in half but a Jaime Lewis field goal early in the second stanza ignited a 17-point flurry before intermission that put the visitors in front 31-7.
Kingston found the end zone twice in the third period and again at the start of the fourthforacommanding52-7 edge and coasted the rest of thewayastheyrackedup384 yards offensively on just 37 plays from scrimmage.
Spurred by Ratzlaff’s 150 yards on only three carries, the Redskins rolled up 217 on the ground as a team on just 22 attempts to average just under 10 yards per carry.
Hudson Everhardt chipped in six rushes for 30 yards, Reid Patterson notched 22 yards on seven totes with Ethan Mowles contributing two carries for eight yards and Blake Wise a pair of attempts for six yards and a touchdown.
Patterson was nine of 14 through the air for 163 yards and two touchdowns while Mowles completed his lone pass attempt for four yards.
Ratzlaff notched four receptions out of the backfield for another 101 yards and a score. Cash Walker snagged two passes for 36 yards, Eli Oliger caught two for 15, Ty Jones had one catch for an 11-yard touchdown and Bowen McAdams added one grab for four yards.
Sam Walker led the defensive charge with the two pick six touchdowns off interceptions.
Kingston will look to maintain its district lead this week against a Prague squad that went unbeaten to win the district a year ago while finishing with an 11-1 record.
The Red Devils have been hampered by key injuries this season with just a 3-4 record and 1-3 in league play. Two of those losses however came without the services of standoutseniorrunningback Ronan Martin, who returned from injury two weeks ago.
“Prague is a good football team,” Hill commented. “They were ahead of Kiefer in the fourth quarter two weeks ago and have a really talented running back. He missed a couple games and that hurt them a lot. We’re going to get their best shot because they are going to be at full strength. It should be a good game.
“It’s going to be Senior Night for our 15 seniors as well. They have really invested a lot into our program. There are a lot of great leaders in that group so emotions will be high. We have to play at even keel and not get caught up in all that.”
