Madill XC traveled to Waurika XC Invitational

The Madill Cross Country teams traveled to Waurika on Saturday, October 9, 2021, for the Waurika Cross Country Invitational. The junior high girls took sixth overall, running 1.5 miles. Allyson Webb took first place running a 9:12.49. Yadira Barbosa came in second place with a 9:34.08 time. Other runners included: Hadon Stuckey (11:37.30); Dakota Peters (12:03.11); Cheyenne Kerley (12:31.67); Azucell Granados (12:51.74); Brailea Page (13:19.29); Lezley Avila (13:39.78); Klarivel Aldava (13:56.32).

The junior high boys took second overall running two miles. Jose Campos ran a 11:46.67 for third place. Thirteenth place went to Cash Cooper for a 12:56.56 time. Other runners: Triston Barnes (13:05.62); Ryder Douglas (12:12.09); Jagger Rogers (13:20.64); Cooper McHatton (13:33.81); Flavio Ibarra (14:10.68).

Head Coach Cale Eidson said, “the junior high kids all ran well. I’m proud of the junior high boys taking runner up, and the girls did well as a team, especially Allyson and Yadira.”

The high school girls ran two miles taking fourth overall with Isabel Sanchez taking fourth place with a 12:22.58 time. Other runners: Yvette Ariciaga (13:51.05); Joslyn Stumblingbear (13:58.47); Korlee Cunningham-Martin (14:02.04); Kaytleigh Davis (14:02.81); Nathali Ibarra (15:19.33); Esperanza Hernandez (15:20.08); Camila Hernandez (15:30.40); Codie Shaw (15:47.35); Jaslyn Grimaldo (16:09.95); Yailin Serrano (16:43.54); Tarah Wiese (17:10.85); Liliana Santillan (18:58.71).

The boys ran 3.1 miles, taking tenth overall. Anthony Sanchez took tenth place running a 19:21.36. Other runners: James Valadez (20:08.95); Jayden McCain (22:01.15); Cesar Moreno (23:16.90); Saul Castro (23:54.29); Barrick Idell (26:01.22); David Mendez (33:50.52).

“The girls team ran well, the boys can run better,” said Eidson. “Our next meet is on October 23 for regionals. We won’t know assignments until the fifteenth.”
