Both Madill’s girls and boys cross country teams rolled to team titles in the OBU Invitational held last weekend at the Gordon Cooper Technology Center in Shawnee.
The Lady Wildcats outdistanced second place Tuttle in the girls’ division while the Wildcats were dominant victors as Seminole placed second.
Junior Yadira Barbosa clocked in with an impressive time of 13 minutes, 25.20 seconds to capture the individual crown.
Teammate Kaia Henry checked in third with a 14:51.44 mark, Katelyn Acquaviva was fifth at 15:10.41, Yvette Ariciaga took seventh in 16:22.23 and freshman Klarivel Aldava also had a Top10showinginninthplace at 17:00.51.
TheMadillboyswereultra impressive in their division as well with senior James Valadez posting a time of 19 minutes, 16.46 seconds in taking home second place.
Jose Campos crossed the line just a hair back in 19:16.47 for third, Triston Barnes was a close fourth at 19:16.53 with Alex Orta less than a second behind them in fifth with a time of 19:16.64.
Junior Ryder Douglas added a ninth place time of 21:16.48 with Gael Gallegos claiming a Top 10 showing in 21:18.91.
Other Wildcat finishers included Blane Hawthorne in 11th at 21:20.57, Canyon Phillips was 12th in 21:32.23, Jose Menchaca scored a 14th place finish in 21:59.99 while Xavier Quintanilla ended 16th at 22:08.96.
Rounding out things for Madill, Vincent Acquaviva checked in at 26:31.29 for 30th, Dayton Gimenez was 31st in 27:26.36 and Azaeel Rivera took 32nd with a time of 27:26.36.
TheWildcatsarecurrently ranked eighth statewide in the OHSTrack cross country poll.
