Lady Redskins struggle to find consistency

The Kingston Lady Redskins hosted and lost to the Comanche Lady Indians on Tuesday,August 29. It was a pitcher’s duel between Kingston’s Khloe Hall and Comanche’s Josey Harris.

Kingston played one of its best defensive games.

Freshman Alyssa Langford had the middle infield locked down with five assists, four putouts, and one unassisted double play. After being the first on the board and holding the Lady Indians for seven innings, Kingston fell 2 to 1 when Comanche hit a solo home run. The Lady Redskins were unable to answer in the bottom of the seventh, ending the game.

The team has struggled with several losses; however, team manager Jon Harris said he is positive about the season to come.

“I will say that this season has been a season for growth and improvement as we have a lot of [5] freshmen starting,” Harris said. “With a new head coach looking to implement [his] knowledge and strategies, you can see why this season has been what it is.”

The team participated in the Tushka Tournament on August 31 and September 1. Kingston began the tournament facing off with the North Rock Creek Lady Cougars. While Kingston pulled off the win, 5 to 2, the team left runners on base and fell, 8 to 0, to theAntlers Lady Bearcats. The team went 1 for 3 in the tournament after failing to secure the win against the Kiowa Lady Cowgirls.
